Alyssa Kopf - CEO
Alyssa Kopf was named CEO of Community Shares of Colorado in March of 2008. Since joining the staff of Community Shares in 2002, Alyssa has led the annual Community Giving Campaign and developed My Colorado Project. Alyssa leads numerous local and national training workshops each year and is committed to introducing innovative communication and e-philanthropy strategies to nonprofit organizations. She is the former chair of the National Alliance for Choice in Giving's Technology Committee and sits on the Community Shares USA Technology Task Force. Alyssa graduated from the inaugural class of Impact Denver, a program for young civic leaders through the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce Foundation. Currently, Alyssa is a fellow with the Center for Progressive Leadership. Alyssa is also on the board of directors of the Denver Young Nonprofit Professionals Network (YNPN). She graduated from the University of Washington with a B.A. in History. John R. Josephson - Accounting Manager John Josephson is a well-rounded and seasoned veteran dedicated to nonprofit financial management and comes to Community Shares after four successful years managing his own online business. His career began in his home state of Florida as finance director for the Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence and later the CFO for Tallahassee’s Capitol Area Community Action Agency. An opportunity to gain experience raising the money led John to Denver and the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence. Rounding out his experience, John served as the Director of Operations and Finance for Gamma Phi Beta International Sorority in Centennial, CO. John holds a BA in Business Administration from Alma College in Alma, MI.
Jodi Korthuis – Member Services Manager Jodi Korthuis is a Colorado native who has worked with donors in various organizations including Rose Community Foundation, The Denver Hospice, and Family Pathways of Colorado. Jodi has been a Community Shares member agency representative for three different organizations and came to admire the work that Community Shares does. She is excited to be learning more about member agencies in this role, which she began in April 2008. A proud graduate of Metropolitan State College of Denver’s English Literature program and a devout Janeite, Jodi is happy to discuss Jane Austen with anyone any time.
Jason Manke - Communications Manager
Jason Manke brings a rich background in
membership direction, virtual communications, and e-philanthropy, and joins the
CShares team after 5 years at the American Alpine Club in Golden. In addition
to his nonprofit professional pursuits he has climbed around the world and owns
a nature photography company. You’ll frequently find him climbing and touring
Colorado with his 4x5 wooden field camera when he isn’t in the office. Jason
serves on the Denver Young Nonprofit Professional Network board of directors and
is the chair of the member relations committee. He is a graduate of Colorado
State University with a B.S. in Natural Resources.
Sharon Prueitt - Administrative Assistant
Sharon Prueitt is currently
designing an individualized degree program in Nonprofit & Public Financial
Management at Metropolitan State College of Denver. She spent most of her life
in Northern Virginia until she participated in Class 13 of AmeriCorps*NCCC in
2007. This program allowed her to spend ten months volunteering, primarily in
Louisiana and Mississippi, with organizations such as the American Red Cross,
Operation Blessing, The St. Bernard Project, and Habitat for Humanity. The
experience inspired her to pursue studying financial management so that she may
be a part of the growing trend towards professionalism in the nonprofit sector.
In addition to working for Community Shares of Colorado, Sharon has gained more
skills as the Helpdesk intern at Colorado Nonprofit Association.
Mary White Snyders - Deputy Director
Mary Snyders has been raising money, managing programs, and producing events in the Colorado nonprofit arena since 1997. She has a diverse background in resource generation and special events, and has raised funds for organizations such as Junior Achievement, the Colorado AIDS Project, and National Jewish Medical and Research Center. Before entering the nonprofit sector, she was with an international consulting firm as a computer programmer and a communication planner. Mary has Bachelors of Arts degrees in both Business Management and Communication from North Carolina State University. She and her husband Scott share a home with one very spoiled cat.
